Who We Are
The Association of Former Students has served Texas A&M University for 136 years. Since its formation in 1879, many details have been changed, but "the fundamental objectives of The Association remain the same: strengthening the Aggie Network, promoting Texas A&M, perpetuating the ties of affection formed in university days, and serving the student body."
The Association has many forms of communication to keep the Aggie Network tied together and strong. Beginning with the first issue of Texas Aggie in 1921, The Association has grown to have newsletters, a website and multiple social media platforms. It was not until 1987 though that The Association built its first permanent space, the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center.
"Today the former students of Texas A&M remain proud of our past yet committed to the future." And though the methods and programs have evolved throughout the decades, the noble cause of The Association is still graciously and lovingly carried out by its staff and volunteers.

What We Do
Raise Friends and Funds for Texas A&M
Strengthen the Bonds of the Aggie Network
Part of The Association's mission is to promote the welfare of Texas A&M University and serve the student body. Through combining gifts, large and small, from thousands of donors, The Association was able to make an impact on Texas A&M of more than $10.6 million in 2014. This money goes to support student activities, traditions, scholarships, faculty enrichment, former student services and many other projects.
Aggies are known for our loyalty, determination and good character to ourselves, each other and our alma mater. The Association works to strengthen those bonds that connect Aggies with each other all over the world and the university.
Promote the Aggie Spirit
Protect the Integrity of the Aggie Ring
The Aggie Spirit remains strong in the heart of the student body and former students. Through years of change and growth, The Association helps keep those ties of affection and esteem strong and works to strengthen the worldwide Aggie Network by being the trusted hub of information.
The first Aggie Ring was manufactured in 1889, and since then, this ring has been the most visible symbol of the Aggie Network. At The Association, our Aggie Ring Program has the honor of protecting the integrity of the Aggie Ring and overseeing eligibility, order and delivery. Texas A&M has the highest rate of undergraduates who choose to order a class ring, with 95 percent of those eligible ordering their Aggie Ring.
