Improved Graphic Design Skills
Through the course of this internship, I have greatly improved my graphic design skills and expanded my knowledge on making print-ready art. I still have so much to learn, but with the help of my mentors and a little trial-and-error, I am much better at channeling my creative drive into tangible works of art.
Improved Photography Skills
Working for a premier organization means providing premier photography for our website, social media platforms, and magazines. I considered myself a skilled photographer before, but after my time at The Association, I have learned how to better serve your client and produce their vision.
Confidence in Work
Something that I have always struggled with is being confident in my choices and my work. I have worked on a variety of projects—Snapchat filters to simple business cards, newsletters to logos—and each has had my individual flair married to The Association's brand standards. I no longer am scared to take a proof to someone to get their feedback, and know when to defend my design choices and when to make changes.
Better Communication Skills
My communication skills have improved tenfold while working as a part of the graphics team. It is not a simple task to interpret someone's ideas and wants and produce viable work that makes not only the client happy, but fits within various specifications and limitations.
